9 Months

It's so hard to believe Lily is 9 months old- I can't believe how quickly time has flown!

I feel like I am CONSTANTLY saying these kinds of things! I also keep finding myself saying "This is my favorite age" and "I don't want her to grow up anymore, I want her to stay just like this."
Unfortunately, that's not going to happen, so I wanted to document a few milestones and what she is doing right now. If I don't I will be mad that I didn't. Forever.

But first, a couple of pics.

Lily tailgating with Mom and Dad before her FIRST Auburn Game! We took her with us to the Homecoming Game (or maybe just the first quarter of Homecoming game- but it still counts!) and she had a blast... mostly with her shaker.

Pregame warm-up.

Enjoying the game with her Daddy. This older gentleman in front of us at the game asked her, "How 'ya doin' little fella?" Nice. The ONE day we don't wear pink...

We are enjoying her SO MUCH right now! Here are just a few reasons why:

She waves (in the correct direction, and in a very deliberate manner) "Hello" and "Bye Bye" but only when SHE wants to (not when you ask her to, mind you, but at things that interest her such as complete strangers in the grocery store, the dogs, the Christmas tree, etc.)

Lately, Lily has been saying alot of "Ma Ma"s and "Ba Ba"s (not sure if this is "Bye Bye" "Bottle" or what) and maybe a couple of "Da Da"s.

I SWEAR this morning she said "Bye Bye, Ma Ma" while waving as I was walking out the door. Coincidence or Child Savant? You be the judge... ;)

Out of all of her toys, she goes for the books most of the time, and LOVES turning the pages for me when I read to her. Her Peter Rabbit touch and feels are some of her favorites. She squeals when we get to the Peter Rabbit page with the big furry ears. Hilarious!

She prefers TV shows with Muppets- Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, etc. but loves- I mean LOVES- Elmo. I am seriously going to have to video her watching him. I have never seen anyone so excited about something. It is a full-on SMILING, SQUEALING, FLAPPING FIT!

And unless Elmo is on with his unmistakable high-pitched voice, she only really watches TV when a song is playing, otherwise she is none too interested. We-- I mean SHE-- also likes Handy Manny (for cultural diversity and the intermingled Spanish lessons) and Little Einsteins (for the classical music and art, of course) I have to admit, I don't hate alot of her faves.

She has FOUR teeth on the bottom and it looks like a couple may be coming in on top soon.

She is a very, er, healthy eater and will eat ANYTHING I give her and acts like it's the BEST thing she's ever had (lotsa grunts and "Mmm"s during mealtime) and usually a slight protest when it's gone. (uh-oh!) Also LOVES juice from her sippy cup!

She goes to bed at 6pm and wakes up after 6am but plays in her crib awhile. (Thank you, Thank you!)

Hmm... what else? Not much except for EVERYTHING ELSE! She is pretty much perfect all the way around. She doesn't cry much- only when really tired, getting into her carseat (really tired while getting into the carseat is ESPECIALLY unpleasant) and around scary MALE strangers (i.e. our PHOTOGRAPHER Rob! We are officially 0 for 3 on photo sessions.)

She is not too keen on crawling, either. She pulls up, and lunges forward at things she wants, but when put on her tummy she does NOT want to crawl. Period. End of Story. As soon as she learned to roll over (which I can't remember because I DIDN'T blog about it) TUMMY TIME as we knew it was over. I can't blame her though, she currently has it made. She has a FREE RIDE EVERYWHERE. Would you want to learn how to crawl?

9 Month Stats:
Lily had her 9 month well visit this morning with Dr.C, who says she is going to be taller than me! Great news! She was 18 lbs 14 oz (50-75%ile) and is 27" (tall/long- both sound funny- which is in the 25-50%ile) and her head measures 17" in diameter (25-50%ile... for those of you who like percentiles.)

Every year I say I am going to take a picture of this tree in our yard because for a few days it is unbelievably bright. This year I actually did it, but the picture doesn't do it justice.

GOODBYE FALL. HELLO HOLIDAYS! (Even if it is in the 70's...)
